The building of a new school calls for safer railroad crossing

WYOMING COUNTY, WV -
A new school is being built in Wyoming County, but a railroad track is forcing officials to take action to keep the children safe.

The schools entrance at Lizard Creek outside of Hanover has a railroad crossing without signals right now.

Administrators are doing all they can to widen the road. Wyoming County Schools superintendent explained the situation.

"This could be very dangerous crossing as illustrated by these large busses, so what I've heard they are going to see what they can do. I'm real happy with the response we've got so far," Blackwell said.

Officials say the new construction will begin as soon as possible.
