CHARLESTON -

Go inside the story of a family’s struggle with Alzheimer’s disease in a feature film set and shot almost entirely in Cass. See “Angel’s Perch” at 6:15 p.m. May 2 at the Clay Center at a fundraising event to benefit the Center and the Alzheimer’s Association, West Virginia Chapter.

Examine the delicate relationship between past and present, memory and loss through the true story of a young architect who travels back to his hometown to care for his ailing grandmother. Find out what happens as he’s torn between the career opportunity of a lifetime and caring for his last living relative as she struggles to hang on to the memories that define both of their lives.

Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be served at a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the art gallery on opening night of the Center’s next exhibit, “Faith & the Devil” by artist Lesley Dill.

Showtime is at 6:15 p.m. in the ElectricSky Theater. Immediately following the showing, meet the film’s writer and producer J.T. Arbogast, whose real-life experience inspired the story, and producer Kim Dilts in a Q&A session.

Tickets for the “Angel’s Perch” film screening and reception are $25. Honor a loved one on the event’s memory wall with a donation of just $25. All event proceeds will be split evenly between the Clay Center and the Alzheimer’s Association, West Virginia Chapter.

To buy tickets or add a name to the memory wall, visit theclaycenter.org/angelsperch. For information on this an all other Clay Center events, call 304-561-3570.
