    In Raleigh County, a woman is miraculously not seriously injured, after her car rolls over on I-77 around 6:30 Wednesday night.An eyewitness tells us the woman was driving in the left lane on the northbound side. She suddenly veered off the road, over corrected,then slammed into the side of a tractor trailer. The car rolled multiple times before coming to a stop on it's roof.The witness says two small dogs ran out of the car. Moments later, the woman crawled out and ran after one of the dogs....

Mark W. Kelley has been elected chairman of the West Virginia State University Foundation for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014.

Kelley is a partner with the law firm of Ray, Winton & Kelley.

Janie Hill, who is retired from a career in rehabilitation services, is the new vice chairwoman.

Allan L. McVey now is the board’s immediate past chairman. McVey is the vice president and agency manager of BB&T Carson Insurance Services.

John L. Fuller Sr. is the board’s secretary. He is retired from a career in administration at West Virginia State University.

The board’s treasurer is David L. Sayre, the vice president for commercial banking for Wells Fargo Bank.

The officers serve a one-year term that begins July 1.

The foundation also elected directors for terms that begin July 1 and continue through June 30, 2017. The directors, all graduates of West Virginia State, are: Patricia L. Alexander, a 1985 grad who owns Alexander Loan Review & Consulting; Gregory V. Monroe Sr., a 1980 grad who works as an executive trainer with Cendant Corp.; James Alan Ross, a 1988 grad who works as a real estate/referral agent and consultant; Ann C. Smith, a 1964 grad, a retired educator and a member of the WVSU Board of Governors; and Lateef Y. Saffore, a 1996 grad who is a research biologist with the Cleveland Clinic.

The foundation also appointed three people to the new position of director emeritus, a permanent appointment that recognizes outstanding service to the foundation.

A director emeritus must have served on the foundation board for at least 10 years, including a term as chair.

The newly appointed directors, all West Virginia State grads, are C. Edward Gaunch, a 1970 graduate who is a retired insurance executive; Gary L. Swingle, also a 1970 grad who is a partner with Arnett & Foster; and Robert L. Stephens Jr., a 1962 grad who is a retired Army brigadier general and higher education administrator.

The nonprofit foundation dates to 1959 and arranges scholarship programs and support for academic, athletic, community and student projects at West Virginia State.
