High speed chase leads to arrest in Fayette County

A Beckley man is behind bars following a high-speed chase in Fayette County.
Deputies said Robert Allen Hernandez, 25, was traveling on WV Route 16 in the Oak Ridge area going 80 mph in a 55 mph speed zone around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Sheriff Steve Kessler said w
hen deputies attempted to stop this individual, the motorcyclist fled at a high rate of speed, at times reaching speeds of more than 100 mph.
This pursuit continued North on WV Route 16 and then turned East on U.S. Route 60 at Chimney Corner.
Hernandez was apprehended at a road-block in Ansted near Hawk's Nest State Park.
This pursuit lasted approximately 10-15 minutes before the rider was apprehended.
Deputies said no one was injured during the pursuit. 
Hernandez was arrested and charged with speeding, no Insurance, passing in a no passing zone, obstructing a police officer and a felony offense of fleeing a police officer with reckless disregard for the safety of others.
