During the final chapel service for the 2013-2014 academic year at Davis & Elkins College, students will have a time for reflection and celebration of learning experiences.

The service will begin at 11:15 a.m. May 1 in Robbins Memorial Chapel. Student participants will read liturgy, offer prayer and provide piano accompaniment, in addition to sharing their triumphs and challenges of the academic year.

Davis & Elkins is one of 65 Presbyterian colleges in the United States and the only one in West Virginia.

“Education is an incredible mission of the church,” says Benfield-Vick Chaplain the Rev. Kevin Starcher. “This is a service of gratitude for the learning experience of the past year.”

Starcher’s sermon will focus on “seeing God in the ordinary and mundane, and how God has been with us all throughout the academic year.”
