Save 50% On All Services And Proceeds Will Fund The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation’s Commitment Towards Ending Discriminatory Language

MIAMI – April 28, 2014 – The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit aimed at eliminating derogatory language and the harm those words cause, is hosting a fundraiser on May 18th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM EST, at the Donna Pascoe Salon and Beauty Store, located at 2 SE 6th Avenue, in Delray Beach, Florida. Customers will be treated to a 50 percent discount on all services and a chance to enter a raffle for several complete makeovers. All proceeds will go towards The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation.

The foundation focuses on schools, companies and community groups to promote the use of language free of slurs and negative stereotypes, by recruiting and engaging supporters and advocates to create Discrimination Free Zones. Zones are easy to create, and can be formed by individuals, corporations or groups demarking a safe and discrimination free space – whether on their person or their surroundings. Discrimination Free Zones are identified with branded wristbands, shirts, hats, stickers, posters, and other items that are available to be purchased via donations at www.discriminationfreezone.com

“Donna Pascoe Salon and Beauty Store has taken the first step in silencing discrimination and pledged itself a Discrimination Free Zone,” said author, attorney, motivational speaker and founder of The Discrimination Free Zone Foundation, Tali Raphaely. “As such I am proud of their support in helping the organization continue to raise the necessary funds needed to fuel our dynamic social movement against discriminatory language. I invite everyone to stop by and get pampered by stylists. Please call 561-573-0006 to book your appointment before May 18th, however walk-ins are also welcome. I thank the South Florida community in advance for your support.”

Attending patrons and anyone interested are also invited to help fund the foundation’s mission via items available through donations at the event. Before wearing or displaying any of these items, supporters pledge not to use discriminatory language based on race, color, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, age or disability. Individuals wearing or displaying the Discrimination Free Zone items are clearly but tactfully informing others that they’ll be offended by discriminatory comments and will not participate in conversations containing such damaging remarks. All proceeds go straight towards raising awareness and training, focusing on comprehensive educational efforts in schools.

Additionally, everyone can take the pledge on www.discriminationfreezone.com and share it on their Facebook and Twitter pages for their friends, family and social network to see, followed by the hashtag #dfreezone.
