    Deputies with the Mercer County Sheriff's Department arrested two people Monday night, when it was discovered they were making meth with 2 babies in the house. Deputy Horn said the children are 7 and 18 months old.

Two Beckley residents caught forging oxycodone prescriptions have been sentenced.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin reports Raymond Duncan, 31, of Bud, was sentenced to 10 months in federal prison for using a stolen prescription pad to obtain the pills, while Jeremy Blankenship, 38, of Crab Orchard, was given 10 months probation.

Duncan, successful in obtaining oxycodone using the forged prescription, pleaded guilty ot obtaining oxycodone by fraud, Goodwin said.

Blankenship, arrested while trying to get a bogus script filled, pleaded guilty to attempting to obtain oxycodone by fraud.

The case was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
