Ever wonder what the big purple school bus riding around Raleigh County is for?

Executive Director of The School of Harmony in Beaver, Charles Lee Hicks, told 59News it's all about serving the needs of the community.

Once the school realized the Raleigh County Library was selling the school bus previously used as a "book mobile" and some music students couldn't afford to drive to Beaver, he said they decided to put two and two together.

"We were able to take the book mobile and leave the shelves for our instruments to take to the kids. We did modify it a bit and put a divider in it, we now have 2 classrooms in it," said Executive Director for The School of Harmony, Charles Lee Hicks.

The School Bus is equipped with a generator and can hold four music students and two instructors.

The School of Harmony opened in 2009. It's a community-minded Fine Arts School tailored to music, art and dance instruction.
