Best-selling multivitamins miss their vitamin label claims by an average 22 percent

  • Multivitamins miss their label claims by an average of 22 percent and vitamin claims by an average of 29 percent
  • Gummy/chewable multivitamins contain 54 percent less vitamins and 70 percent less minerals compared to standard multivitamins
  • 1 in 3 vitamins contain 10 percent less vitamin C than the amount claimed
  • 16 percent (12 out of the 75 tested) contained at least 30 percent less vitamin A than their label claims
