Two Detroit men have pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Huntington to drug trafficking offenses, U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin said.

*Daniel M. Flowers, 43, admitted to distributing heroin in the Huntington area from August 2008 to April 2013.

Flowers said he and his co-conspirators, some of whom transported heroin from Detroit to Huntington, utilized multiple residences in the Huntington area to store, prepare and distribute heroin, and on April 10, 2013 he allegedly sold the drug to a police informant at an apartment in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue in Huntington.

He faces up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing, which is set for Aug. 11 before U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers. The case was investigated by the FBI Huntington Violent Crimes Drug Task Force and Huntington police, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph F. Adams is in charge of the prosecution.

*In a separate case, Cecil Rice, 34, admitted to possession with intent to distribute heroin.

Goodwin said that between August 2008 and September 2013, Rice conspired to transport heroin, cocaine base and oxycodone from Detroit to Huntington for distribution.

Rice had two packs of heroin concealed in his mouth when he was arrested in September after leaving a motel located on 16th Street Road in Huntington. A search of Rice’s motel room uncovered additional heroin and cocaine base, Goodwin said.

Rice faces up to 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced Aug. 11.

The FBI Huntington Violent Crimes Drug Task Force and Huntington police, with assistance from the Cabell County sheriff’s department, investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph F. Adams is in charge of the prosecution.
