Thundering Herd welcome awarded

Posted: Updated:

When fans of the Thundering Herd welcome their football team during home games at Joan C. Edwards Stadium, the atmosphere is electric.

Much of that excitement is stirred by a video that plays on the stadium scoreboard just prior to kickoff.

The company that produced it, Barnes Agency, has received a Gold Addy Award for its production of the 2013 Marshall University football intro video at the recent American Advertising Federation of West Virginia Addy Awards ceremony in Charleston.

“We have been producing Marshall University’s football intro videos for the past five years, and we know how important the video is to so many of the fans that attend Marshall University home football games each year. It’s really an honor for us,” said Barnes Agency CEO and President Jeffrey M. Barnes.

Marshall University Associate Athletic Director Aaron Goebbel said the video energizes fans.

“The video production work they manage is world-class and they captivate an audience with a full understanding of what the message you are trying to deliver is,” Goebbel said. “They get the Marshall brand.”

Barnes Agency, with locations in Hurricane and Huntington, is currently in production on the 2014 Marshall University football intro video. To date, the agency has won over 350 regional and national awards for advertising excellence.
