Dr. Kamel Marzouk was awarded the Outstanding Specialty Preceptor Award for the south-central region. A graduate of the University of Alexandria School of Medicine, he completed his residency training in internal medicine at Morristown Medical Center.

Preceptors assist and provide guidance to WVSOM medical students in their third- and fourth-year clinical rotations. During the annual graduation awards ceremony, preceptors from each of the school’s six regions who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring also were honored.

Some 50 hospitals, clinics and medical centers across West Virginia take part in WVSOM’s statewide campus program.
