A state program that pays for funerals for low-income families has exhausted their funds.

West Virginia's indigent burial program is now out of money until the new fiscal year, which begins on July 1st.

Over $2 million was allotted for the program. Due to state budget cuts, the program's funds were reduced by $50,000.

A Mercer County resident speaks out on the budget cut.

"It's way up in the thousands of dollars to bury your family. It's a struggle from day to day, it's hard enough to make it these days, families need help out," said Derrick Roberts.

This is the second year the money has run out for the program.
