Theater West Virginia is getting ready for its opening night coming up in just a few weeks. Monday, June 30 was the first day of rehearsals for actors.

The season will start with the Hatfields and McCoys play at the Grandview outdoor theater Friday, July 11th.

Technical Director Tim Arthur is in charge of the theater's upkeep each season. He said theater staff have been working non-stop the past week re-painting the stage, fixing pieces of the set and re-vamping the theater's lighting system.

And he said they're looking forward to get the season started.

"We're really excited especially since this year people thought that it might not make it and to at least save it for the 20 shows that we're doing is just amazing it's been a lot of effort and hard work on everybody's part," Arthur said.

Tuesday, July 1 will be the first on-stage rehearsal for Theatre West Virginia's dancers. At 8 p.m. July 11th the 20-night season will begin.  The shows will run Wednesday through Sunday nights until August 2nd.
