Greenbrier Classic focuses on kids during youth day

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV - The Greenbrier Classic is in full swing, but before the pros take to the links Wednesday for the Pro-Am, the younger fans had a chance to be up-close and personal with the pros.

A trick shot golfer along with some of the pros met with kids Tuesday on the Old White TPC Course.

It was all part of the First Tee's Youth Day.

First Tee of West Virginia's Rich Kissenger said the chance to mingle with the pros helps kids understand golf, from a pro's perspective.

"The kids get to see how you get to hit a ball," Kissinger said. "The pros tell you how much work it takes. Some of the kids have gotten to meet with the pros and find out that information. So coming down here and looking at what they're doing is pretty exciting for them."

Four young golfers from the First Tee of West Virginia and the Roanoke Valley had the opportunity of a lifetime Tuesday, getting to play with some of the pros on a three-hole scramble.
