Ticket Down is a dependable source for 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals tickets. The World Cup Finals match between Germany and Argentina will take place on Sunday, July 13th.

The 2014 World Cup has seen its share of surprises throughout the past several weeks. It started with the assault of the defending World Cup champions from Spain, was carried through the tournament by stellar play from goalkeepers from Mexico and Costa Rica, and with the completion of the first semifinal game, the dismantling of the Brazilian squad by Germany. With the record-setting 7-1 victory against Brazil, Germany advanced to the 2014 World Cup Finals against Argentina, who needed penalty kicks after 120 minutes of shutout football. The game will be held on Sunday, July 13 from Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro.

Germany shocked soccer enthusiasts around the world with their assault of Brazil in the semifinals. In the Group of Death, they beat Portugal and United States and earned a draw with Ghana in what was one of the most exciting games of the tournament. In the elimination rounds, Germany squeaked by Algeria and France 2-1 and 1-0 respectively. During the tournament, they have been led by Golden Boot hopeful Thomas Müller, who has scored five goals. Other players that also played large roles in their success this tournament include André Schürrle (three goals), Mats Hummels, Miroslav Klose and Toni Kroos who each have two goals.

After what was a magnificently played match of football, it took penalty kicks for Argentina to advance to the World Cup finals. Like they were throughout the entire tournament, Lionel Messi was the man for Argentina. Messi put the first ball in goal for Argentina during the penalty kick portion of the game, but it was the ball off the foot of Maxi Rodriguez that clinched the game. Rodriguez came in as a substitution late in the game and could get the start against Germany in this matchup.

Estádio do Maracanã originally opened in 1950 and was renovated a year ago in preparation for this tournament. The venue was built to accommodate the 1950 World Cup and has also been home to numerous monumental matches over the course of its history. The venue can seat more than 74,000 fans and has been used six times during the 2014 World Cup. Most recently, it hosted the Germany victory against France in the quarterfinals and the venue should be packed with German and Argentinian fans.
