For over a decade, Aerospace Products S.E., Inc., (APSE) has supported the heavy maintenance required to keep the aging KC-135 Stratotankers flying for the U.S. Air Force.

Oklahoma City, OK (PRWEB) July 14, 2014

As the 2014 Farnborough Airshow celebrates 100 years of aviation, the KC-135 certainly has its place in history. More than 800 KC-135s in various models were built, and over 400 of them were still in service at the end of 2012, according to the 2013 U.S. Air Force Almanac.

APSE, an AGC Aerospace & Defense portfolio company, also celebrates supporting the 200th KC 135 as it underwent programmed depot maintenance (PDM).

APSE supports KC-135 programmed depot maintenance in a myriad of ways, said Jeff Gehring, President of APSE. We provide every fastener that goes on that airplane, and we have more than 300 kit configurations that we build to support all of the work that takes place on the maintenance floor.

APSE provides supply chain management and integration services to government and commercial aerospace customers. The company focuses on specialized hardware particularly fasteners of all types as well as on-site inventory bin management, distribution, full-service kitting and complete logistical support.

First launched into service in 1957, the KC-135 has served the U.S. Air Force as its primary aerial refueling tanker for 57 years, far outlasting the lifespan originally envisioned for the four-engine aircraft.
