PITTSBURGH, Pa. -

First Niagara Financial Group Inc. has promoted Kris Volpatti to first vice president and commercial real estate team leader for western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.

Volpatti joined First Niagara in 2010. At the time, she had more than 25 years of commercial real estate lending experience, including working at National City, Wells Fargo and PNC.

She earned a bachelor of science degree in finance and economics from the University of Pittsburgh. She is active in both industry and community volunteer work, including serving as a board member of the Regional Industrial Development Corp., the Urban Land Institute Regional Product Council and the Pittsburgh YMCA.

First Niagara, through its wholly owned subsidiary, First Niagara Bank, is a multi-state community-oriented bank with some 410 branches, $39 billion in assets, $27 billion in deposits and about 5,900 employees.
