Senate passes legislation that would allow Virginians to drive drunk on their own property

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) - The Senate passes legislation that would protect Virginians from getting charged with DUI while on their own private property.

It’s an amendment to current drunk driving laws already in place.

The bill passed quietly in the Senate last week with a 37-3 vote. It will now go to the Virginia House of Delegates for consideration.

Some locals in Roanoke are nervous it could be a slippery slope to more lenient drinking laws.
