2 arrested for malicious wounding in Beckley

Beckley Police have arrested a pair of men who were wanted in an attack that happened in New River Park during the spring.  Detectives said two women were beaten and robbed on May 26, 2015.  Wayne Cassidy, 27, of Beckley was arrested on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015. He is charged Malicious Wounding, First Degree Robbery and Attempted First Degree Robbery and also Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.  Jarrad McGhee, 20, of Beckley was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 17.  He is also facing charges of Malicious Wounding, First Degree Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.  Both men are being held in the Southern Regional Jail.  Cassidy’s is being held without bond.  McGhee’s bond is $1,000,000.  

There were four other arrests made in the attack.  Yoshua DeWall, Kasey Stewart and two juveniles were charged in the case.  Stewart pleaded guilty and has been sentenced.  DeWall was indicted and is waiting for trial.
