A second person is expected to be arrested in connection to the death of West Virginia University student Nolan Burch.
CBS Pittsburgh reports that Jordan Hankins is accused of blindfolding Burch while he was given a lethal amount of alcohol. He is expected to turn himself in.
Earlier in the week, 20-year-old Richard Schwartz of Williamsville, New York, was charged with hazing and conspiracy to commit hazing. The criminal complaint says Schwartz was assigned to be Burch’s “big brother” and was a member of the fraternity.
Burch died in November, a few days after being found unresponsive at a fraternity house. According to medical tests performed on Burch following the incident, his blood alcohol level was 0.493, more than six times the legal limit. Burch was 18 at the time of his death.
