The Greenbrier County Alzheimer’s Support Group meets on the first Tuesday of every month. The meetings begin at 5:00 in the evening.
The support group focuses on caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s. Leaders of the group say it is a safe place for those caregivers to talk through the challenges of the disease, and exchange ideas on how to cope.
They meet at Genesis Health Care The Season’s in Lewisburg, and are the only Alzheimer’s support group in the county.
“Sometimes you feel as if you’re alone and you’re the only one dealing with it and when you have a group, you have other people that are going through the same things or they will be going through the same things, and it just brings everyone together,” says Kim Thomson of The Seasons.
New attendees are always welcome.
