Arrest made in Princeton sex assault investigation


An arrest was made on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 by the West Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.  Deputies charged Charles Roger Barie, Jr., 45, of Princeton, WV with 11 counts of First Degree Sexual Assault and 11 counts of Sexual Abuse by a Parent, Guardian or Custodian.  The victim in this case was less than 12-years-old at the time the crimes occurred.

Investigators said the crimes happened in Princeton, WV and spanned from 1999 to 2003.  The crimes were brought to the attention of authorities by the victim, who is now of age.   Barie was arraigned on Wednesday. He is currently being held in the Southern Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
