The Lewisburg City Hall Piano is getting a facelift, and the Cultural Arts Roundtable has chosen the artist for the job.
Greenbrier East High School Senior Cassielle Donahue is in the middle of painting the piano after she submitted a design and was chosen by the committee.
According to committee members she was chosen for her simple but beautiful design for the community instrument.
Nick LaCasse of the Greenbrier Historical Society says “That’s one of the unique things about this community is you never know where or who art is going to come from. And we were very happy that we were able to have designs come in from all over the community and the fact that it was a high school student was kind of irrelevant to us but also very unique to see that there was a strong youth involved in the painting of the piano.”
The full piano design will be revealed during the Chocolate Festival in Lewisburg on April 9th.
