The Saints are back in White Sulphur Springs, and businesses are now preparing for the fans to follow.
“We order extra items that we think they’ll enjoy. I know we do have a friend we have on Facebook from New Orleans also and he said he’d be here this year so I’m looking forward to seeing him,” said Cook’s Country Kitchen owner Dana Payne.
One item fans and players will see is the country fried steak that was made famous by quarterback Drew Brees. Last year quarterback Drew Brees walked into Cook’s Country Kitchen surprising guests and the owner.
“At the time I didn’t know who he was, but now we do know who he is and he can’t remain incognito this year.”
Payne says she’s already had quarterback Josh McCown come in with his family this week. The Saints are giving an economic boom to more than just the restaurants.
“They’re hiking our trails. Hopefully maybe they’re also doing a cave tour. Hopefully visiting the beautiful Greenbrier Hotel. SO everything is affected and hopefully that just makes the tourism that much better in our area,” said Kristi Godby.
Training camp starts Thursday, and the Saints will be in White Sulphur Springs until August 20th.
