Car lands in river in Alderson

ALDERSON, WV (WVNS)–  A car rolled into the Greenbrier River Friday morning in Alderson. 

Police Chief Jeremy Bennett tells 59News a woman stopped by the Exxon to vacuum out her car.  She didn’t put the car in park when she got out, and the car rolled backwards across two lanes of traffic, and into the Alderson River. The woman thankfully was not in the car and was not injured.

The car was pulled out around nine this morning.

According to dispatchers, Alderson Police, Alderson Fire Department and Tri-County Fire Department all responded.
