Concord University holds 17th annual fall commencement


Concord University held it’s Seventeenth Annual Fall Commencement Saturday, December 12, 2015. The ceremony began at 11 a.m. in the main gym. Two honorary degrees were given out at the ceremony, along with the other over one hundred degrees.
     Five of the students that graduated this semester are veterans. We caught up with one of five veterans, Thomas Himebaugh, who shares how thankful he is that he had the G.I. bill from the army to help him get through college, “It was very beneficial in regards to getting housing and books and getting everything taken care of, I didn’t have to worry about paying for school, all I had to worry about was my education.” Himebaugh graduated with a degree in sports management. He says his goal is to one day work with a Major League Baseball team.
     The valedictorian Amber Jesse is a local, she is from Princeton. Concord Universities Technology Services Department recorded the ceremony. If you would like to order a DVD call (304) 384-5126.
