Engineering personnel from CSX are still on the scene in the area of Hinton, WV on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. The railroad shut down train traffic on the line from Hinton to Sandstone at around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. That is because of major flooding along the New River.
According to a CSX spokesperson, some train traffic was resumed on Wednesday at a reduced speed. Officials said they are using speeds which are consistent with safe track operations. Crews are assessing the tracks and will allow regular operations to resume as soon as safely possible.
