RALEIGH COUNTY, W. VA. (WVNS) — A man has been arrested after deputies say he was trying to break into homes and several cars in Flat Top.

Raleigh County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Dustin Wayne Brewster Sunday evening.

According to a criminal complaint, deputies responded to an attempted burglary at a home on Flat Top Lake Road.

On their way to the scene, deputies saw a suspicious vehicle parked in a church parking lot nearby. That’s where they soon found Brewster wearing a baseball hat, camouflage jacket and black book bag.

Brewster told deputies he was dropped off by a friend to get his vehicle.

When deputies arrived to the home where the reported burglary happened, they found surveillance video that showed Brewster allegedly trying to break the home and cars in the driveway.

Brewster is charged with nighttime burglary. He’s being held at the Southern Regional Jail.
