A Oak Hill man was taken to jail on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 on drug charges.  Oak Hill Police were called to School Street on around 7:30 p.m. to investigate suspicious drug activity.  There were two people at the scene who matched the description in the anonymous tip.

Investigators searched the two people and found various drugs and paraphernalia on one of them.  Christopher Michael Shepherd, 40, of Oak Hill, WV was arrested.  He is charged with Possession of Illegal Drugs with the Intent to Deliver.  He was taken to the Southern Regional Jail without bond.

Oak Hill Police Chief Michael Whisman attributes the arrest to the tip left by the caller.  He encourages anyone who sees activity like this to call 911 and report it.
