Officials with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 the closing of the applications period for the Emergency Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP).  According the Bureau for Children and Families Commissioner Nancy Exline, applications for the program will no longer be accepted after 5 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016.

The reason for stopping the applications process is because there is no more money for the program. The federally funded program helps eligible state residents to pay their home heating bills.  People with questions about the Emergency LIEAP program can contact the Division of Family Assistance at 304-356-4619.
