Greenbrier East High School is joining a nationwide movement . Students and their parents joined teachers in a Fields of Faith celebration by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Schools all over the country are celebrating with a concert of praise and worship music, followed by testimony from attendees about their faith and journey with God. Greenbrier East High School just like many schools in the state that have joined the movement and are excited about what it may bring to it’s students
Matt Savauge is a teacher and coach in the district. He says he believes celebrations like these are extremely important for students. “Nowadays, there’s nothing more important in my opinion. Just because taking God out of the schools has hurt a lot, and bringing it back in, there’s nothing more important than getting His word back in the schools with these young teenagers,” says Sauvage.
This is the first time in two years that the school is hosting the event, and teachers say it is the best turnout they have ever seen.
