Gun toting Ohio couple captured in Lewisburg

Lewisburg Police arrested two people who were allegedly pointing guns at people and asking for drugs.  Officers were called to the Quality Inn at around 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.  There was a report that a man and a woman in a black Dodge Charger were in the parking lot of the motel and pointing a gun at the caller.

When police arrived they found the vehicle and spoke with the Kevin Palmer, 25, of Dayton, OH and Theresa Kennedy, 33, of Fairborne, OH.  There was also a juvenile in the car, but he ran off.  Officers were able to track him down and take him into custody.  His name is not being released because he is a minor.

A search of the car turned up a shotgun.  Police also found two more shotguns inside and outside the couple’s room.  Witnesses told investigators the couple was stopping people and asking for drugs.  Officers were able to find out the car was stolen as well as other items located with the couple.

Palmer and Kennedy were both charged with one count each of Brandishing a Weapon and Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  They both also have extensive criminal records.  They are being investigated by at least five jurisdictions in Ohio for a crime spree that involved several counties.  Ohio authorities said there is an active warrant on the juvenile for being a runaway.

Authorities in Ohio came to West Virginia on Thursday, May 7, 2015 to follow up on their investigation.  Palmer is being held in the Southern Regional Jail on a $6,500 bond.  Kennedy is also in SRJ.  Her bond is listed as $42,000.  The juvenile is being held at the Gene Spadaro Center in Mount Hope.
