A total $3,062,774 was donated to the Head Start programs in Fayette and Mineral Counties from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources Administration for Children and Families.
U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) made the announcement, Tuesday morning. The funding will help the Fayette County Child Development and Mineral County Board of Education to continue their services of health and education to children and families.
“It is a big factor for these families in our community and our county for us to continue receiving this money and provide a high quality Head Start program,” says Keith Young, Fayette County Child Development executive director.
Individually, Fayette County Child Development was given $2,191,416. Mineral County Board of Education received $871,358.
