Historic festival to showcase Fayette County’s history kicks off

The Hometown Mountain Heritage Festival started in Ansted on Thursday, June 16, 2016.  The Contentment Complex historical home is taking guests on a trip back in time to show them what it was like to live in the area “back in the day.”

“This is the main things in Ansted that has some historical background so many of the houses, a lot of our history has been destroyed for it to be modernized and so forth,” Donna Bibb, a tour guide with the historical home said.

An open house will take place at the Contentment Complex on Saturday as a part of the Mountain Heritage Festival.
