On February 13, 2015, human remains were found in the Eccles area of Raleigh County. With several cases still open where people went missing, investigators weren’t sure who the body belonged to.

“There were several aspects of the crime scene that did indicate that foul play was involved,” Detective Morgan Bragg said.

The remains were found on Upper Sandlick Road by West Virginia State Police. The remains were identified as those of Travis Summers. Summers was reported missing over a year ago on May 7, 2014.

“We have developed persons of interest that we would like to speak to and some that we plan to,” Detective Bragg said.

Detectives said that because the remains weren’t found for several months, determining who’s they were was definitely a long process.

“The fact that Mr. Summers was so well known we have obtained a great deal of information,” Bragg said.
