A hunter was injured during the morning hours on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016. Authorities said she fell from a tree stand while hunting. The initial call came in just after 9 a.m., according to the Harrison-Taylor 911 Center.
Harrison County sheriff’s deputies said they were getting ready to shoot at their gun range on Range Road outside of Reynoldsville when they spotted the woman’s blaze orange up a hillside. The woman, who is 48 years old, fell 12 feet from a tree stand, then dragged herself 30 yards out of concealing brush. She was hunting alone, according to deputies.
She was taken to United Hospital Center with unknown injuries but was conscious and alert when she was transported. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources was called in to investigate.
