Interstate 77 reopens after multi-car pileup


UPDATE: Feb. 8 at 7:42 p.m.: Officials with West Virginia Parkways Authority report all lanes of Interstate 77 northbound are open, following an 18 car pileup  Monday evening.


ORIGINAL STORY: The West Virginia Turnpike is shut down near the Raleigh and Mercer County line.  Dispatchers report more than 20 vehicles are involved in accidents between Camp Creek and Ghent.  

Fire Departments from Raleigh County were dispatched to the scene and Mercer County has sent more than 14 units to help.  Officials said Northbound lanes are expected to be closed as a result of the accidents.  According to the West Virginia Parkways Authority there are no deaths or serious injuries involved.
