A Kanawha County man has been charged in the death of another man Friday night.

Scott Johnson Meador, 38, of Cross Lanes was arrested and taken to South Central Regional Jail on Saturday morning. He faces first-degree murder charges.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department said a caller reported a man walking with one shoe, covered in blood and muttering he had just killed someone on MacCorkle Avenue and Kanawha Terrace in Jefferson at 9:30 p.m. Friday night.

About a half hour later, another caller said a man was found dead inside the Foxy Lady strip club on MacCorkle Avenue. Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police confirmed someone had been killed inside the club.

A short time later, deputies found Meador at Grumpy’s Bar and Grill, located farther east on MacCorkle Avenue, with blood on his clothes. Deputies said the 38-year-old had told someone he had killed a man.

The male victim had been identified as Glen Alfred Carpenter Jr.

No bond has been set for Meador.
