10:30 a.m. Oct. 6, 2016 UPDATE:

An arrest has been made in an investigation into a shooting at Willbrian Apartments on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016.  Semaj Lowery, 29, of Mabscott was identified as a suspect in the case.  He was arrested by officers with the South Charleston Police Department on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016.  He is facing charges of Malicious Wounding and four counts of Wanton Endangerment.  

Lowery is being held in the South Central Regional Jail in Charleston, WV.  Police are still looking for a second suspect in the case.  Anyone with information can leave tips with CrimeStoppers at 304-255-STOP or at the links below.

ORIGINAL STORY: An investigation is under way after one person is shot at an apartment complex in Beckley.  Police said a 19 year old man from Tennessee was shot in his lower back on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016.  It happened at around 1 p.m. at Willbrian Apartments. 

The victim, who has not bee identified, was taken to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. Detectives said more than 30 total shots were fired at the apartment complex in just minutes.  

“It was really fast, sounded like fire crackers,” said David Morgan, who witnessed the incident. “Then I heard something ricochet and hit the hallway next to my house. Next thing you know, not even 10 seconds later, there was blue lights everywhere, unmarked cars, what looked like cops with automatic rifles  swarming in and then there was a helicopter right behind them.
