LATEST: Summers County Deputies receive tips about stolen UTV

9:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 UPDATE:

Summers County deputies said they have received tips about the stolen UTV.  It was apparently seen traveling down Wayne Street in Bluefield, WV.  Officials are following up on those leads.  Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the Summers County Sheriff’s Office at 304-466-7111.

An investigation is underway after a family wakes up to find that close to $20,000 worth of their property is stolen. Now, Deputies are on the search for whoever is responsible.

It was a normal night, the Turner family went to sleep to get ready for Memorial Day. But when they woke up, they found that several items from their garage had been stolen.

“It was parked right here underneath the carport,” Chad Turner said.

Chad Turner owns the home right outside of Hinton and taken from him was his side by side all terrain vehicle (Red 2014 Viking) , a weed eater and a chainsaw.

“I’m a little bit scared quite frankly. We had three cars parked out here and kids playing around all night and for someone to be as bold to come onto our property and steal this from underneath of us with the lights on was very brazen,” Turner said. Turner’s wife couldn’t believe it either.

“For something like this to happen while we are here trying to relax on vacation with our family feels very violating,” Samia Turner said.

The family is currently playing the waiting game until there things show up. They said they’re things are replaceable, but their peace of mind isn’t. If you have any information about this incident please contact the Summers County Sheriff’s Office.
