Local 911 experiences smaller call volume than expected during snow storm

Officials with the Raleigh County 911 center say they were prepared for a high call volume, but applaud residents for taking their advice and just staying home and off the roads.  Deputy director Mark Wilson says residents still need to stay off the slick roads and let plows come through.

“I know that people are anxious to get out of there houses and things like that, but you still want to be careful, you may want to give it one more day if you can, DOH is still out there still trying to clear some secondary roads and things like that and give them time to do their job,” Wilson said.

As we’ve told you many times before, do not crowd the snow plows when driving.
