Man arrested for fleeing in Beaver

While two fires blazed in Beaver, WV on Friday, April 29, 2016, deputies made an arrest which may be connected to the fires. Deputies said they were on the scene of two arson fires when they were notified about a disturbance on 8th St.

When investigators arrived on 8th St., they found Clyde Christopher Lynch, II, who matched the description of a suspect believed to have been involved in setting the fires.  After deputies told Lynch to stop, he took off over an embankment and into a creek.  Deputies were able to stop him and make an arrest.

Lynch told deputies that he was running to protect his girlfriend, who was drinking underage.  At this time, Lynch is facing a misdemeanor charge of Fleeing on Foot.  He is being held in the Southern Regional Jail.  There is no word at this time if Lynch will face any charges in the arson investigation.
