West Virginia State Police report just after 4 p.m. on Friday (9/22) the McDowell County 911 Center received a call regarding an unresponsive man in a car in the drive through at Wendy’s in Welch. Emergency Medical Services were immediately dispatched to the scene along with troopers with West Virginia State Police.
The first to arrive on scene was a trooper with state police who began CPR on the unresponsive man. Later more troopers arrived to help assist with the situation. Through chest compressions, the man regained a pulse.
The victim was then transported to Welch Community Hospital for medical treatment. At this point the victim is alert and is in stable condition. At this time it is still unclear why the victim was unresponsive.
