A string of arrests are made over the weekend on drug charges. The McDowell County Sheriff’s Department announced on Monday, April 13, 2015 that two men were arrested on Friday, April 10 for dealing drugs. Stuart Baker, 38, of War is facing charges of Delivery of the Schedule IV Controlled Substance and Delivery of a Schedule III Controlled Substance. He was arraigned and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
On Monday, April 13, 2015, Donald Altizer, 70, also of War was arrested on similar charges. He is accused of Delivery of a Schedule III Controlled Substance. Altizer was also arraigned and released on a $25,000 bond. The drugs included Xanax and Hydrocodone. Investigators were tipped off by a confidential informant.
A traffic stop on Friday night lead to the arrest of two other men. Joseph Hurley, 40, of Keen Mountain, VA and Robert Horn, 42, of Jolo, WV were in the car when the stop was made. Deputies pulled them over because of an improper registration, but during the investigation they found money and pills.
Hurley is charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Conspiracy, Improper Registration and Driving on a Suspended License. He was arraigned and released on a $30,000 bond. Horn is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance and Felony Conspiracy. He is being held on a $30,000 bond.
