After being closed for more than a year after flood waters washed away much of the course – The Meadows Golf Course at The Greenbrier Resort is officially reopened.
The Greenbrier held the official ceremony with a ribbon cutting today. Many people gathered for this ceremony including First Lady Cathy Justice.
The floods of 2016 damaged the course so bad, they had to redesign it and now, over a year later, it has been rebuilt and improved.
“Of all of our courses The Meadows was the most damaged by the flood. Because it was located along Howards creek it suffered by far the most damage, we lost bridges and lost in some cases entire golf holes,” said Burt Baine, Vice President of Golf Operations at The Greenbrier
This course is 18 holes and some of them have been changed to fit the new course image.
