People interested in taking a role on the Mercer County Board of Education are asked to send the group a letter of interest. The board is looking for a person to fill the seat vacated by former President Greg Prudich, who served on the board for 17½ years. He was replaced as President by Gene Bailey, but Prudich’s seat has not yet been filled.
Letters of Interest should be addressed to the Mercer County Board of Education. They should include reasons for wanting to serve on the board and a brief resume with specific qualifications. A new board member will be appointed during the March 8 meeting and will serve until a member is elected in November.
Letters should be addressed to the following:
Office of the Superintendent
Mercer County Board of Education
1403 Honaker Ave.
Princeton, WV 24740
Letters can be faxed to 304-452-5844 or emailed to email@example.com. Only Mercer County residents from District One or District Two are eligible to fill the vacated seat. That is because no more than two members of the BOE may serve from the same magisterial district. Applicants must have a high school degree or the equivalency of a high school diploma.
