As she sat holding her deceased son’s newborn child, Melveinna Clark can rest easy knowing her son’s accused killer, Tevonte Hoskins is behind bars
“All I could do is thank God for working in me and through me to obedient,” Clark said.
Clark said last Thursday as she prayed for Shaquille. She received a phone call from a friend.
“She said I promise I think I see the young man that killed your son,” Clark said.
Tevonte Hoskins was arrested November 12th, 2015 following a traffic stop on Harper Road. He was taken into custody by Beckley police and U-S Marshal’s. Hoskins preliminary hearing was held this Friday, November 20th, 2015. Clark was prepared to face her son’s accused killer.
“I came because I’m in support of my son, but I did not get to see the young man,” she said.
Hoskins did not appear in the courtroom, but he waived his hearing
“It’s not going to change, it’s not going to bring my child back,” Clark said.
We asked if Clark would ever accept her son’s accused killers apology.
“To be honest, walking with God and when you turn things over to God and you’re obedient with God, I know a lot of people might think I’m crazy, but yes I will accept it,” she said.
Hoskins is currently in the Southern Regional Jail being held without bond.
