N.C. boy drowns at Smith Mountain Lake

A 9-year-old boy has drowned at a popular Virginia vacation spot.
Police say the boy was playing on a floating trampoline at Smith Mountain Lake with some other children.
When the children swam back to shore, the boy did not return.
Emergency crews were called at around 6 p.m. Saturday evening. They recovered his body about two hours later.
Police say the boy, who was visiting from Durham, North Carolina, was not wearing a life jacket.
This is the second drowning at Smith Mountain Lake in three weeks.
