Beckley Police have identified the victim in a shooting that happened on Antonio Ave. on May 25, 2015. Shaquille Hannah, 22, was apparently shot by a person who was sitting behind him in the read passenger seat of Hannah’s car. Detectives said the suspect in the shooting has been found and interviewed. Investigators are working with the Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney’s office to determine what, if any, charges should be filed in the case. The suspect is not being identified at this time.
Officials said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and detectives have ruled out the involvement of anyone else who was traveling in the victim’s car at the time. A by-stander helped to treat Hannah before emergency responders arrived. Hannah is in serious but stable condition at a Charleston hospital.
Beckley Police said that the victim of a shooting on Antonio Avenue is listed in critical condition. The 22-year-old man was found shot at around 8:15 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2015. He was initially taken to a local hospital for treatment, but has since been transferred to the intensive care unit at a hospital in Charleston, WV. His name is not being released.
The case is still under investigation by the Beckley Police Department Detective Bureau. According to Det. Morgan Bragg, a person of interest has been identified. Investigators are interviewing witnesses and are attempting to get surveillance video.
